DIY Spring Sanitizing Blend

DIY antiviral sanitizing blend product showcase

This is our brand new refreshing DIY sanitizing concentrate blend that can be used in a number of ways. For those of you that may be looking to avoid toxic compounds and harsh chemicals in most store-bought products, this concentrated blend can be used to make your own hand sanitizer, aerosol sprays, purifying spray for cleaning toxins and chemical residues off of food (fruits, vegetables, meats, fish), increasing the microbial killing power of laundry detergent (certain bacteria spores can actually survive laundry cycles), and much more. It’s incredibly easy and fun to make your own blends using this concentrate.

Many of the oils in this blend are among the strongest natural antiseptic compounds that exist in nature. That is not hyperbole or an exaggerated statement. Adding colloidal silver and Lugol’s iodine in DIY blends may also add powerful antiseptic qualities on top of what already exists in essential oils. Scientific research on essential oils continuously proves that they contain an impressive range of medicinal properties. This blend may also have uplifting qualities because of the citrus-based oils used within it.

Sliced oranges used in essential oil blend

Orange, Tangerine, Lemon, and Bergamot Oil

This citrus blend contains a broad-spectrum of properties to help uplift and balance mood, add a refreshing scent, and provide strong pathogen fighting qualities. Orange, lemon, and bergamot essential oils have been shown in laboratories to destroy powerful and dangerous pathogens such as MRSA, E.Coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Aerobacter, Pseudomonas, and many other species. Bergamot may have effects against several flu viral strains. (1-3)

Thyme on a table used in essential oil product

Thyme, Clove, & Cinnamon Oil

Study after study has shown how powerful these three oils are for all types of pathogens in lab, animal, and human studies. No blend for any type of infectious agent would be complete without these three oils. There are many other potent oils for a number of pathogens, but these three essential oils often come out on top or near the top for studies that test the microbial- killing power of natural oils. (1,4,5) Cinnamaldehyde, thymol, carvacrol, eugenol, p-cymene, and others are some of the compounds responsible for these powerful effects. Many have been shown in research to have potent properties towards inhibiting viral replication. (5)

Tea Tree used in essential oil blend

Tea tree & Lemongrass Oil

We added these two oils because they are both very powerful compounds that have multiple studies for different types of infectious agents. In one study, lemongrass displayed the most potent antiviral activity towards HSV-1 infections. There were multiple oils that were tested in the study and it was concluded the lemongrass oil may be the most effective essential oil against HSV-1 infection. There are other studies that clearly showed activity against different fungal and bacterial strains. Combining lemongrass and tea tree oil with the other ingredients in this formula may increase its pathogen killing capacities. (6,7)

While we don’t make any claims about this blend killing any specific pathogen, we do our best to add ingredients that have powerful and consistent research in order to bring you the safest, most effective natural product we can. As mentioned above, if you are interested in making the strongest possible solution, adding nano-colloidal silver and some Lugol’s 5% iodine to this mix may increase the potency even more. This may not be needed though because of the broad-spectrum effects of thousands of natural compounds within the essential oils.

While no testing has been done with this specific blend, the oils used within it have hundreds of combined studies showing excellent medicinal properties. They were chosen specifically for this reason. Even though essential oils are very safe, they are also very concentrated. Please keep out of reach of children. It is not meant to be ingested, although the oils in this blend are on the GRAS list.
